Women's summit promotes creative aging The Ammerman Center for Creative Aging and Wheat Ridge Ministries, recently co-hosted a summit conference entitled, "Women of Faith and Vision Creating a New Definition of Aging" held in Venice, Florida, September 27-28, 2007. The purpose of the Summit was to lay a foundation and create a framework for the development of an older adult ministry model that celebrates, educates and advocates for all older adults in our faith communities and guides the church in responding creatively to this important and growing population. The major concept that emerged from the summit: Aging must be viewed as a number of transitional events that celebrate an individual's personal and vocational achievements, supports an individual's emotional, spiritual and social needs and opens possibilities as a call to new ministry opportunities.
