Searching for the Holy:
A Spiritual Seminar to Begin the Season of Lent
February 26 ~ 1:00 to 3:00

On the First Sunday in Lent, February 26, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm, Ascension Lutheran Church, Washington Crossing, will host a two-hour seminar entitled “Searching for the Holy” with the Rev. Leslie M. Richard. She will use lecture, dialog, and experiential pieces to explore what God is like, personal encounter with God, and how to recognize the presence of God.
The Rev. Leslie M. Richard holds an MA in Holistic Spirituality and Certificate in Spiritual Direction from Chestnut Hill College, Philadelphia. She serves a call to specialized ministry in the Southeastern Pennsylvania Synod ELCA as a Spiritual Director.
We have made our New Year’s resolutions; we have turned over the calendar to a new year; we are well into the busy activities of our 2012 lives. We may be anticipating the months ahead to be filled with happy looked-forward-to things. Or we may be carrying some heavy concerns over into this new year. Or . . . more likely . . . both.
In whatever way we anticipate 2012 and beyond, each of us, if we pause long enough to consider it, has eternal questions at our core. And each of us at some time in our lives has likely experienced a time when we “hear” only the silence of God, when we may question: “Where is God?”

Lent offers us the opportunity to pause and ponder these things. That is why on the First Sunday in Lent Ascension Lutheran Church, Washington Crossing, will host this special two-hour spiritual seminar entitled “Searching for the Holy”.
