Pastor Jan Waclawek will be installed as Bishop of the Silesian Evangelical Church of the Augsburg Confession (SCEAV) on Sunday, January 29 in Cesky Tesin, Czech Republic. Joanne Carlson, assistant to the bishop for global vision and events, will attend the installation representing Bishop Burkat.  Your prayers are requested on that day for Bishop Waclawek and the people of SCEAV. 

Most high and gracious God, pour out upon us your one and unifying Spirit, and awaken in every confession of the whole Church a holy hunger and thirst for unity in you. Fill the Silesian Evangelical Church of the Augsburg Confession with all truth and peace. Strengthen and sustain our brother Jan as he is installed as bishop, that with courage, patience and understanding he may lead, love and care for your people in the name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.  Amen.

Bishop Waclawek previously served as Vice Bishop and has had a long connection with the Companion Synod Relationship with SEPA. He was one of several SCEAV leaders who visited our Synod for a week in May of 2009.
