The Montgomery County Resource and Recovery Committee (R&RC) and SEPA VOAD are  hosting a United Methodist Committee on Relief training for Disaster Case Managers, subsequent to the needs generated by Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee. This 2-day training will prepare volunteers to walk through the recovery process with families adversely affected by the storms. Initial commitments to Disaster Case Management would be approximately 4 hours/week per family assisted – involving assessment of needs, identification of resources, and helping families accessing the resources needed to take them back to a “new normal”. Work will be done in a combination of telephone contacts, online data entry, and face-to-face meetings.
