July LDR task force update

    Pandemic Exercise and Awareness Event

The “Disaster Preparedness Camp” scheduled for August 14, 15, and 16 has been re-designed.  The event has been changed to a half day Saturday event, still the same weekend, August 15, from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. at St. Luke Lutheran Church, Devon, Pa.  The event will feature information on how best to prepare for a pandemic crisis where our conventional means of gathering for work, fun or worship are not feasible.   The half-day event will also feature an exercise where St. Luke Lutheran Church serves as a “Push Site” for mass distribution of medicines.  Push Sites are a type of dispensing point used to supplement the larger high-school based POD (Points of Distribution) sites.

This event is for anyone interested in learning how their family or congregation might be better prepared in the event of a pandemic.  Practical information will be provided as well as the opportunity to experience the the Chester (and Delaware) County model for mass distribution of medicines.  All are welcome and encouraged to register and attend.

In light of the fact that the WHO has declared the H1N1 “swine flu” virus a pandemic and the likely incidence of more cases this fall, this exercise is timely! To register, please contact Julia Menzo at the information below.
