Healthy Boundaries workshop for rostered leaders

    Rostered leaders are invited to “Healthy Boundaries,” a workshop on misconduct prevention and SEPA Synod policy, on Wednesday, September 22, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Havertown. 

    This free workshop is required for rostered leaders new to our Synod and those who have not yet attended the Synod’s prevention and policy workshop.  The workshop will be held from 9 am to 3 pm at Trinity, 1141 West Chester Pike, Havertown, PA 19083.  Lunch is included.

    The objectives of “Healthy Boundaries” are to:

    • Review theological foundations
    • Review the dynamics leading to sexual misconduct
    • Understand sexual feelings and energies in ministry
    • Understand the impact of misconduct on the perpetrator, complainant, congregation and the Synod
    • Review and discuss synodical policy

    Presenters include Bishop Claire Burkat, the Rev. Dr. Dolores E. Littleton, LMFT (advisor to the bishop for issues of misconduct) and Dr. Stephen Treat, LMFT (director and CEO of the Council for Relationships).
