Activated by the gifts of the Holy Spirit, we equip the saints and the congregations for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ.

It Takes All the Saints Appeal

We are often surprised by the abundance of God’s grace and generosity, even when we do not readily see the opportunities and blessings on the “other side of the boat”.

Our Synod exists to help us see and utilize those opportunities and blessings to accomplish Christ’s mission here in Southeastern Pennsylvania.  We make possible missional initiatives no single congregation could accomplish.  Here are just a few examples:

The Southeastern Pennsylvania Synod is a leader in the ELCA in equipping and resourcing congregations to minister in our challenging, ever-changing times.

Recently, several hundred leaders came together for conference gatherings, as well as the Bishop's Convocation, which offered inspiration and new ideas for deepening our shared partnership in the Gospel.

Please help ensure that our vital Lutheran witness continues to thrive.

Your gift will provide the assistance and resources needed by the Synod in these challenging times.  Prayerfully consider making a gift (again) this year.

You may click the Donate Now button to donate securely online or download a pledge card to print and mail to us.

I remain grateful for your partnership in the challenge from Jesus to cast our nets on the other side of the boat

May Christ our Savior continue to surprise and bless us with His amazing grace.

With and in Christ,

Claire S. Burkat, Bishop

Our Southeastern Pennsylvania Synod is on a mission:

To equip the saints and congregations for ministry, for building up the Body of Christ.

This biblical mandate (Ephesians 4:12) calls all of us to work together to strengthen our capacity to witness to God’s action in the world and to join God in mission.

The annual “It Takes All The Saints” campaign provides much¬needed support so that vital ministries stay healthy in these difficult economic times.

    Your gift makes a difference!

    • Supporting new congregations like Faith Worship Center in East Lansdowne.
    • Walking with unique and creative faith communities exemplified by The Welcome Church ministry with people who are homeless in Center City, and Turning Point’s youth outreach in Northeast Philadelphia.
    • Organizing the “Dunked and Stuffed” youth gatherings and servant trips to Detroit and Central America.
    • Mentoring candidates, and overseeing the candidacy process, for more than two dozen seminarians as they prepare for public ministry.
    • Developing best practices for Transformational Ministry to assist with congregational vitality.
    • Connecting people and networks across our Synod through SEPANews and MinistryLINK.org.
    • Supporting Lutheran Disaster Response with prayer, gifts, timely communications, and volunteer coordination.
    • Offering inspiration and encouragement to equip congregational leaders, such as Dr. Rodger Nishioka’s Assembly presentations, and our fall conference gatherings.
    • Growing and deepening relationships with the Northeast Diocese of Tanzania, by partnering SEPA Congregations with NED Parishes
    • Sending and blessing Tom and Susan MacPherson, serving as volunteer missionaries in Tanzania

Thank you for your support of our common ministry in Southeastern Pennsylvania!
