It Takes All The Saints!
In response to concerns about the deficit budget for 2009 approved by the Synod Assembly, the Assembly directed that a special appeal be held to help defray the projected shortfall. The Synod Council has scheduled a special synod-wide offering to be held All Saints Day, Sunday, Nov. 2. The theme for this offering is “It Takes All The Saints” to provide for the future of the Lutheran Witness in Southeastern Pennsylvania. Full details and materials have been sent to congregations and are available online.

Catch the spirit of the 2008 Assembly
The 2008 Synod Assembly heard about missional principles that will shape our common ministry, based on this Biblical formula: "It's God's mission. Jesus is Lord. The Holy Spirit guides us." The Assembly also heard Kelly Fryer describe common characteristics shared by congregations that are missionally engaged with their neighborhoods, received Emmaus Road Lutheran Church, and passed a resolution allowing congregations to send an additional youth or young adult voting member to the Assembly.

Mutual ministry seminar cancelled
The Mutual Ministry Seminars scheduled for Saturday, November 15, 2008 at Calvary, West Chester, PA and Sunday, November 16, 2008 at New Hanover, Gilbertsville, PA have been postponed until further notice due to the death on Monday morning of Albert Bruesehoff, father of speaker Pastor Dick Bruesehoff.
World AIDS Day service Nov. 29
The annual Service of Holy Communion and Litany of Healing to mark World AIDS Day will be held Saturday, Nov. 29 at 3 p.m. at Reformation Lutheran Church, Mt. Airy.










Mrs. Carlson coordinates major synod meetings and events and works with our international partnerships with companion synods -- the North Eastern Diocese of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania and the Lutheran Church in Silesia (Czech Republic). She also works with groups related to World Hunger, Lutheran World Relief, Advocacy (international issues), Resources and Volunteer Opportunities (international) and all other international related issues/involvements.
Ms. Bailey supports Pastor Sellers and Mrs. Carlson and compiles the Bulletin of Reports and Minutes Book.
